Krossinn was founded on August 12th 1979 in Kópavogur.  After moving a few times, the church is now located in Hlíðarsmári 5 - 7.

The congregation originates from the Pentecostal awakening and the roots of its founders are in the Pentecostal church.  The church emphasizes the importance of people having a personal relationship with the Lord and encourages them to participate in the work of the church.

From the beginning the congregation has been known for lively services and has served as a voice of Christian ethics into the community.

The pastor of Krossinn is Gunnar Þorsteinsson.

Every week there are services on:

Sundays at 16:30

Saturdays at 20:30

Tuesdays at 20:00

Children's services:

Sundays at 16:30

Prayer meetings are held 30 minutes before each service and on Wednesdays at 20:00.

Youth

Krossinn's youth services are held on Thursday evenings, at 20:00. 

The youth comes together to pray, worship and listen to the Word of God.

They participate in evangelism and in every part of the work of the church.

The youth pastors are Rúnar Ólafsson and Jóhanna Gunnarsdóttir.

Children's ministry

While the grown-ups attend Sunday services, Krossinn's children ministry is active in another part of the building.

All kids, up to 12 years old, are welcome to attend!

Missions

The Good News Today ministries is run by people who have obeyed the Lord's calling.  These people are Curtis Silcox and his family.  They come from Tennessee, USA, where the GNT office is located.  Deliska and Jeff Lombard, as well as Curtis and his son, Scott Silcox, take care of most of the work there, between their missions around the world.

Many people participate in the work that the Lord is working through GNT.  The love of the Lord has no boundaries so they simply go wherever the Lord tells them to go, whether it is the building of a hospital in Honduras or evangelism in China.

In December 2000, Inga Guðnadóttir and Sara Lind Kolbeinsdóttir went on a mission with GNT to La Ceiba, Honduras.  They saw wonderful people living in great poverty, living and feeding of a dump.  They saw people in need of God's love.  This trip was the beginning of cooperation between Krossinn and GNT.
